March Lambs
In March we are celebrating Read Across America! Reading is such an important part of helping young minds grow! We will also be studying several themes such as; weather, St. Patrick's Day and Spring! As well as, doing author studies on some famous authors like; Laura Numeroff, Mo Willems, and Eric Carle! However the best part about March is the nice weather. The kids are so excited to be able to actually spend time outside in the sun! Happy Reading!
Cutting allows children to build the fine motor skills they will use throughout the rest of their lives for things such as writing, using a spoon or brushing their teeth! At the same time they are building both hand eye coordination and bi-lateral coordination (using both sides of their bodies at once).
Friendship Painting
We did friendship paintings to help build our social emotional skills. We teamed up with friends we don't normally play with to create one unique piece of art together!
Painting helps build children's cognitive development, by growing the pathways in their brain that prepare them for learning. While that is so important, the best part about art is how each child gets to create their own unique work of art. In the Lamb Room we try to build smart and confident children and part of that is allowing them ways to express their individuality in a safe and nurturing environment.
Valentines Day
Another fun day we got to celebrate was Valentine's Day! We decorated valentines bags, passed out valentines, had a dance party, and played games!
Even outside we are always learning! The entire class teamed up and worked together to build a snowman! We had so much fun building our snowman. This was a great opportunity to test out our problem solving skills to create such a unique snowman!
100th Day of School
The 100th day of school is such a fun milestone! We celebrated by dressing up like we were 100 years old, eating 100 fruit loops at snack and doing 100 dance moves!
